"Jak można dziś powiedzieć <<my>>"? Jest to niewątpliwie pytanie o wspólnotę. Zawarte w nim "my" nie odsyła jednak do wspólnoty czysto ludzkiej. Wykracza bowiem poza to,
co ludzkie, ku temu, co zwierzęce. Wykracza zarówno ku zwierzęciu, jak i ku temu,
co zwierzęce w człowieku - a także ku temu, co ludzkie w zwierzęciu. Ludzko-zwierzęca więź pozostaje wszakże ambiwalentna, pełna napięć i sprzeczności.
W części drugiej projektu "My" Artur Malewski podjął próbę uwidocznienia
i upublicznienia tej więzi. 2 czerwca 2009 roku, od godziny 12.00 do 20.00, stworzony przez artystę "mobilny pomnik" Ludzkiego Zwierzęcia krążył po ulicach śródmieścia Łodzi. Finisaż akcji odbył się tego samego dania w Foto Cafe 102 (Piotrkowska 102),
o godzinie 20.30.
Part 2. HUMAN ANIMAL or WHY THIS ROE DEER IS SO FAT AND THIS ELEPHANT SO THIN?
"How can we say nowadays"? It is undoubtedly a question of the community. The "we" inherent in it does not correspond, however, to a strictly human community. It transcends the human dimension and turns towards the animal world. It refers to the animal notion in general and to the animal element inside the human - as well as to what is human in the animal. All the same, the humananimal bond stays ambivalent,
full of tension and contradictions.
In the second part of the project "We" Artur Malewski made an attempt to reveal this bond and make it public. On the 2nd of June 2009 from 12.00 noon to 8.00 p.m.
a "mobile monument" of 'Human Animal' created by the artist was circulating around
the streets of Łódź city centre. The closing ceremony took place on the same day
in Foto Café 102 (102 Piotrkowska St.) at 8.30 p.m.

W latach 1996-2002 studiował na Wydziale Edukacji Wizualnej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych im. W. Strzemińskiego w Łodzi. Współpracuje z poznańską Galerią Piekary i z łódzką Zoną Sztuki Aktualnej. Tworzy rzeźby, instalacje i filmy wideo, a także realizuje akcje artystyczne. Jego sztuka, przesycona absurdem i czarnym humorem, bywa inspirowana codziennością i kulturą popularną, szczególnie motywami rodem z horrorów. W swoich pracach systematycznie podejmuje też temat antropologiczno-kulturowej relacji człowiek - zwierzę.
Artur Malewski (b. 1975)
In the years 1996-2002 he studied at Department of Visual Education at W. Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. He cooperates with Poznań Piekary Art Gallery and Łódź Zone of Contemporary Art. He creates sculptures, installations and video films and he also organizes happenings. His art, transfused with absurdity and black humour, is sometimes inspired by everyday life and popular culture, especially by thriller-like themes. In his works he systematically takes up the topic of anthropological-cultural relationship between the human and the animal.
